Let me be clear: I never set out to build ‘another coworking space’.
ko&co was meant to feel different and to be different.
It’s not the place to show up and tick off your to-do list (though yes, those days are very satisfying).
It’s a space designed to shift how work feels for solopreneurs, founders and small businesses who’ve stepped away from the ‘9 to 5’ and into something of their own.
I didn’t build this to offer desks, and hope you figure out the rest.
This is about reimagining how we work after we’ve left the ‘9 to 5’ life – when isolation kicks in, burnout creeps up, or the whole DIY hustle starts to feel like a trap.
The moment it all clicked
Last week, I hit a wall.
Too many ideas. Not enough traction.
You know the feeling, you’re spiralling.
Every buzzword buzzing: ‘find the runway’, ‘sales funnels’, ‘hold your nerve’, ‘survive the spreadsheet’, ‘keep the dream funded’, ‘EBITDA’ (why did that even rate a mention last week!)
I’ve worked across countless businesses before and my brain was throwing acronyms, strategies, and startup mantras at me from every direction — past, present, and future. Total overload. Probably why EBITDA got a mention!
So I cleared the decks, grabbed a stack of giant paper, and sat down in front of a giant whiteboard in the workhub. Just me and a few truths I’d been avoiding.
I wasn’t chasing a lightbulb moment. I just needed clarity.
What’s working now?
What can I build next?
How do I actually keep this thing moving?
At first, I thought I’d make a plan. A tidy strategy. A well-behaved to-do list.
But what came out was something deeper:
Not a rebrand or a pivot. Simply a recalibration back to the reason I built ko&co workhub in the first place.
And I worked out where Kendra Creative truly belongs.
AND THIS IS US ... ko&co Workhub
ko&co is a brand-led workhub in South Melbourne. Not just a coworking space, but a space and support system for solopreneurs and small businesses carving their own path.
ko&co workhub isn't for everyone.
Because when you leave the ‘9 to 5’, you don’t just leave a desk behind — you lose rhythm, connection, and often, momentum.
And let’s be real: DIY-ing every decision, strategy, and social post? That’s not the dream. That’s a fast track to burnout.
So I built a place that shifts how work feels – not just how it looks.
No private offices. No generic desks with awkward silence. No soulless spaces that photograph well but feel like nothing.
Just one open-plan hub with warmth, energy, and a creative community that moves people forward.
Yes, you’ll find desks here (we are still a coworking space). But more than that, you’ll find the kind of support most small businesses go without:
→ Strategic brand and comms backup;
→ Content creation and marketing support that doesn’t drain you (or your bank balance);
→ Brand clinics to get unstuck, move forward, or see things clearly; and
→ Events and workshops that fill your cup, not your calendar.
It’s for those building something of their own – with heart, courage, and minimal backup.
It’s for those who do a lot with a little.
It’s for those who want to work well, do meaningful things, and feel part of something genuine.
This is a place where business isn’t just built, it’s supported.
By people, energy, strategy and community.
The future of work isn’t solo, it’s supported. And this type of work starts here.
If you’re building something and you’re ready to stop doing it all alone – ko&co workhub might just be your next move.
This isn’t just about leaving the ‘9 to 5’ and the traditions of office life and starting your own thing.
It’s about creating what comes next: with focus, support and on your own terms.
Small business owners and solopreneurs don’t need more noise, more hacks, or more hustle.
We need places and support that steady us. A community and connections that get it. And a workspace that works for how we work now.
ko&co workhub is that place. That rhythm. That reset.
So last Saturday, I didn’t pivot. I came home to the reason I built this in the first place. My mission and purpose.
And finally brought it to life.
If you’ve been building something brave, quiet, or entirely your own, maybe this is the space for you.
Come see what we’re creating.
Or just keep reading. Watching.
Feeling it from the sidelines.
Whichever way, I’m grateful you’re here.
